Big Sounds/New Sounds (Playlist Episode #69)
As the snow melts around us here in the east, I feel like spring is not too far away. Hope springs eternal, they say. Musically, I received several big band albums over the last few weeks helping, perhaps, to put to rest any notion that current big band music is not relevant. Quite the contrary. This week, the “Alloy” airwaves were full of big sounds, new sounds from big bands, as well as new work from smaller bands, all making for quite an interesting mix of music.
