Alloy: Episode 108

Going long...and by the way, which one's “Pink”? (Playlist #108)

"love" (detail)

The tumultuous political season here in the US has pushed and inspired me, among other things, to listen to more music in general, and in particular, some vintage Pink Floyd tracks. Specifically, the politically prescient Animals. This week’s show featured a block of tracks that I loosely called three chapters of Floyd. A track from the early days with Syd Barrett, two tracks from Animals, and a later/solo track by Roger Waters. A heavy but relevant set of music. There was also time to play a couple of new, longer works by artists Aaron Diehl and Elizabeth A. Baker. Be sure to check this week’s playlist to learn more about all the artists and tracks featured this week.

Don't forget that you can listen to all of the music from the last episode, “Deeper Understanding” (click here). This week's artwork, “love” is a detail of a larger work by yours truly and is part of a current juried exhibition, “text | texture | textile” on view at CALC. See the whole artwork, here.

Thanks for listening!
