Déjà Vu (playlist #122)
In the immortal words of the late, great Yogi Berra, "It's like déjà vu all over again." How? Well, after needing to cut short last week's show due to unexpected technical issues, I opted to give the same playlist another chance. So, for those who listened to last week's brief episode (which was all of three tracks!), it was "like déjà vu all over again." Happily, though not totally glitch-free, this week's musical journey was a success! Highlights of this week's very diverse music mix included fabulous new work by Bill Frisell and Thomas Morgan, a shag-a-delic, 1974 funky big band tune by Buddy Rich, and gorgeous Frippertronics by Robert Fripp and Brian Eno (youtube | purchase). All this and more comprised today's live show.
Finally, don't forget that you can listen to all of the music from the last episode, “Mining for Sounds” (click here). This week's artwork by yours truly stays with the déjà vu theme in that it was recycled from a past episode, but fit this week's theme nicely (even touches on the Frippertronics idea). Thanks for listening!
