intersections (playlist #165)

“intersections” by gbmediadesign

The first hour of this week’s show took time to celebrate the work of legendary bassist Jaco Pastorius, who would have celebrated a birthday on December 1st. Several tracks from Weather Report’s eclectic Mr. Gone and Pat Metheny’s excellent Bright Size Life were the primary sources referenced for this week’s mini-musical celebration. The second hour kept things rolling along, crossing numerous sonic intersections (from some unexpected sources) weaving funk, fusion, electronic, and ambient sounds into the morning airwaves. Checkout this week’s playlist to see what was shared.

Don’t forget that you can see what was featured on last week’s show, “imaginary borders” (by clicking here). This week’s artwork, “intersections” is a detail of a larger piece by yours truly. You can view the full version here.

As always, thanks for listening!
