New music filled the airwarves this week. I have received a lot of new releases over the past couple weeks and finally got around to playing some of the highlights during this week's show. I also played several tracks from Beach Boy and creative genius, Brian Wilson from his 2004 release, "Brian Wilson presents SMiLE." For those that may not know, this was the on-off-on-off mega-opus that was supposed to be released in 1967, but was permanently shelved due to creative differences in '67 between bandmembers. It is a compelling story and Wilson's vision did not see the full light of day until 2004. The history of this work, and the process behind it, is captued nicely in a full-length documentary titled, "Beautiful Dreamer: Brian Wilson and the Story of 'SMiLE'" this week's recommended watch.
