"Z"

Klabbes Bank

This week's featured recommendation is the new release, "Z" (amazon | itunes) by the Swedish jazz ensemble, Klabbes Bank. I only recently learned of this band via the excellent music review site, "Bird is the Worm", where Dave Sumner published an extensive overview of their releases--I encourage you to checkout Dave's reviews. "Z" is positively unpredictable in all the right ways. As the ensemble's music director, Klas-Henrik Hörngren describes, "The compositions feature the highly individual voices of three wind instruments bathing in a trio producing an electronic ocean. Occasionally they float on top, other times they’re submerged, bringing forth music that ripples and crests like waves." (1) This album, this group, is well worth a listen.

Tune in to this week's "live" episode Tuesday at 9AM to hear more new tracks by a variety of genre-pushing artists. If you can't catch the "live" show, you can always catch the all-music, 24/7 station. Thanks for listening!
